Nominee: Eric Aicher
I would like to nominate Eric Aicher for the UAH Core Values Award. I have worked with Eric for the past 5 years as both his teammate and his manger. As I reviewed the award criteria, I could not think of a better candidate than Eric. Not only does he represent all of the Brand Maxims, but he also excels in the behavioral attributes. I have yet to meet a colleague, customer, or competitor that does not hold him in the highest regards. His unselfish behavior enables him to have the unique ability to balance work and family life, which is value not mentioned in the criteria, but I know UAH values highly. Finally, the reason I believe that Eric should be considered for this award is the company values not only apply to the way Eric runs his professional life, but also applies to the way he runs his personal life. I am proud to be associated with Eric as both a colleague and a friend. Thank you for your consideration.

He’s been on a few different teams over the years, and I’m glad that I get the opportunity to work with him now.
Nominee: Brian Arnold
I nominate Brian Arnold for his outstanding embodiment of United Animal Health’s core values. He consistently demonstrates the qualities that define our company culture and mission.
Serves with Humble Character – Brian has an immense amount of knowledge but is never arrogant or rude. He is patient and kind at all times, both internally and externally. He is a good-hearted person to his core.
Values Initiative and Responsibility – There is a high degree of trust in Brian – when he says he will do something, you can be sure that he will.
Looks for the Good in Everything – I can’t think of one time that I’ve heard or seen Brian display negativity. He’s trusting, supportive and willing to help anyone who asks for it.
United Animal Health is extremely fortunate to have such a talented and compassionate employee.
Nominee: Brian Arnold
Brian is a conscientious team player who never lets anyone down. He is always willing to jump head-first into any situation and give it his all. He not only cites our values in his meetings, he lives them in his daily activities. He serves our customers with vigor and diligence and is always working to advance our company to meet the changing needs of our customers and industries. He’s never said a discouraging word or had a bad day. He shows up with everything and leaves with nothing. Brian believes in earning the business, making a difference, having fun, finding the humor in the daily grind, holding to the highest standards, and always doing the right thing – for the customer and the better good. He treats every problem like an opportunity and enjoys the daily strife of working toward making a difference in the lives of the people here and those we serve. I’ve been here a good bit and seen a lot of other places, you’d be hard-pressed to convince me that a better candidate for this honor exists. Brian is a role model for what it means to live and serve our core values.
Nominee: Brian Arnold
The concept of humility is getting cloudier in our society. Our world is increasingly rewarding a “me-first, you-less” mentality. Therefore, it’s both a relief and a gift to work with someone who meaningfully serves with humble character. Brian Arnold is a clear fit for this year’s award, as he exemplifies United’s Core Values.
When Brian asks how you are, he genuinely cares about the answer. For example, if you seek help, he is quick to look for solutions. He is relentlessly creative. Or, if you feel overwhelmed, you need only observe the grace and commitment he extends to our United peers and our United customers.
An unknown author said, “Use words that are helpful for building others up, according to their needs, so that it may benefit those who listen.” Brian is hard-wired to give encouragement and slow to find others’ faults. He truly looks for the good in people — what a wonderful thing to have someone rooting for you! It’s rare.
He knows that collective positivity gets more things done than disjointed agendas and egos. Brian couldn’t be arrogant or self- serving if he tried. So yes, he’s a super nice guy, but he’s also a guy that brings both kindness and hefty credibility when he says, “Sure! We can do that.”
Does Brian check the boxes of serving with humble character? Valuing initiative and responsibility, while honoring beyond commitment and looking for the good in everything? No pencil needed – we can check those boxes with a Sharpie. Lucky us!

Nominee: Raul Fonseca
Raul’s love, devotion & passion of our company & its vision is unmatched. Here’s one example, since there is too many to choose from. I work 3rd shift & when I first started here, I was trying to obtain as much trusted knowledge as possible because this field was very new to me as it is to many. Raul always said to me “If you ever have any questions don’t hesitate to call or text me because I barely ever sleep”. I took advantage of that; I mean he’s been here for 16 years, so his knowledge of all things is something that I felt privileged to obtain especially since he is willing to share it. My whole reasoning for seeking an employment opportunity at MDG 1 year ago was based on Rauls passion for our company & the love they have for their employees.
Nominee: Inka Glidden (Winner of the 2023 Core Values Award)
I am pleased to nominate Inka Glidden for this award, as she truly embodies the core values we hold at United Animal Health. Inka has an exceptional understanding of our business and effortlessly collaborates with clients, the sales team, and various departments within the corporate office.

Nominee: Mike King
There has NEVER in my opinion been a bigger Champion of “How we behave” than Mike King. I knew what his Core Values were LONG before I ever saw them on a piece of paper or a plaque anywhere. Often times true Leaders are the “unsung heroes” of any organization. They are ultimately responsible for any success or failure and are often times strategizing well into the night on how we can be better. I personally believe that True Leaders of any organization should also be allowed to participate in the culture that they are responsible for building, cultivating and maintaining. Leading with Humble character is an attribute that you see within 3 minutes of entering in to any conversation with Mike King. He speaks with confidence, will ALWAYS seek to understand any situation that he is presented with before just jumping to a decision. Takes the time with whomever he is speaking with to let them know that he values them as well as their opinions and truly is an adopter of “the best idea wins” mindset. I’m confident that he has an ego somewhere but when it comes to growing MDG I’ve never seen it, not even once. He relishes being shown something new, is an early adopter of anything that will help him and his team be better, and always has his hand and eyes on the pulse of the culture we’ve worked so hard to build so that we can make sure that we are actually maintaining it. Honoring beyond commitment is another attribute that is the Embodiment of Mike King. I’ve seen it OVER and OVER.
Nominee: Don Massey
Don Massey exemplifies the United values as he knows no job too big or too small. He is always at the ready to take on what needs to be done for the good of the company. Here are other words to describe Keith: humble (Earn the Business), relentless, hard-working (Make a Difference First) , results- oriented, (Fire in Your Belly) intelligent, team-builder, strategist, personable (Have Fun), works hard to get relationships based on trust (Culture Keeps this Ticking).
He also sees the “whole” of a situation, To solve a situation, he will look for all of the causes, and work on the total issue. He has had remarkable success doing this. (Responsibility, Character, Commitment)
He finds memorable ways to describe situations, often using humor. (“Mr. Obvious here.”)
And I highly recommend him for the high standards he sets for himself and his team (Hold the Highest Standards). He is a rare person who personifies the the values, behaviors, beliefs, and practices of John B. Swisher.

Nominee: Joel Spencer
Outside of academia, it is rare to encounter successful professionals with a 22+ year career with a single company. Joel Spencer would be one of those, and not for lack of opportunities elsewhere either.
Due to his humble personality, you wouldn’t necessarily know that Joel is one of only a handful of swine nutritionists in the industry whose expert opinion is sought on a myriad of topics. Joel is results-driven and does not hesitate to chase new ideas with research. Name any topic related to swine nutrition or health, and there’s a good chance Joel has been involved with a research project on that topic. He was instrumental in the creation of many of our current top margin-generating products in testament to his customer-centricity and putting people before the research.
Dr. Spencer remains a student of not only the pig, but also of human psychology – as evidenced by his passion for mentoring, continuous improvement, and ability to communicate from the barn to the boardroom. Although Joel holds high standards for himself and others, he recognizes the importance of allowing enough room for – and learning through – failure. Amid his demanding work schedule, Joel takes his family responsibilities and faith seriously in testament to his integrity and drive to do the right thing.
I suspect what has kept Joel at UAH all these years is the alignment of our UAH brand and his personal values – but don’t take someone else’s word for it, go ask him. His office door is open!
