Position Summary:
This role plays a critical role in driving the global success of United Animal Health’s swine health products. As a key member of our team, you will lead the development of innovative swine health solutions while delivering expert technical support to customers, industry leaders, swine production organizations, research collaborators, and the academic community. Your contributions will directly impact the advancement of swine health and reinforce United Animal Health’s position as an industry leader.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Service:
- Provide direct customer technical support for company swine health products.
- Provide technical support to global sales, marketing, and research teams on swine health products.
- Provide accurate, credible and current technical information to support the achievement of commercial objectives.
- Support veterinarians, production health teams, consulting veterinarians, and swine producers both domestic and internationally to find creative solutions to end user problems.
- Keep customers, collaborators and United Animal Health management updated on current industry health technology, issues, and trends.
- Provide pathogen diagnostic support and technical guidance.
Research and Product Development:
- Lead and/or participate as a team to conduct discovery, product development, and customer support research trails.
- Creatively work with United Animal Health and collaborative research teams to innovate and develop new swine health solutions.
- Be directly involved in discovery, innovation, and life cycle research to support swine health products.
- Work collaboratively to develop and support cutting-edge technologies that take a systems approach to maintaining swine health and performance.
- Engage in the full product cycle, including development, implementation, and ongoing support for FDA/USDA approved and regulated products.
- Leverage experience in animal pharmaceuticals to drive innovation and ensure the successful commercialization of swine health products.
- Lead and consult on projects focused on product safety and efficacy, develop comprehensive launch data packages, deliver technical training to sales teams, and ensure robust support for post-launch trials.
- Support the sales of United Animal Health swine health products by driving product training, technical presentations, and designing/conducting field trials.
Industry Leadership:
- Attend and present technical information at industry events and scientific conferences to support and build the United Animal Health product lines.
- Build relationships with key universities and contract research organizations.
- Drive swine publications and podcast deliverables to reinforce United Animal Health’s thought leadership in swine health.
- Engage positively with industry decision-makers, influencers, and key academic and scientific leaders in the U.S. and global swine industry to support United Animal Health products.
Additional Responsibilities:
- 30-50% travel to company facilities, research farms, and external research partners. Travel would be primarily domestic but would also include international travel opportunities.
- Attend industry events and company meetings to stay informed on trends, innovations, and best practices to develop innovative solutions.
- Ability to be creative, innovative, and work collaboratively with a dynamic research and technical team to service swine customers and health teams.
Work Environment:
- Position can work remotely from home office.
- Position will need to routinely work in farms and research environments.
- Willingness to travel as needed to company meetings, research sites, internal and external partners, both domestically and internationally by plane and car.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education / Training:
- DVM degree required from an accredited university.
Relevant Experience:
- 5+ years of production swine health management.
- Experience in technical support or technical sales of swine health products.
Specialized Knowledge:
- Expertise in swine nutrition, health, and commercial production.
- Demonstrated ability to design meaningful field trials.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office for presentation purposes.
- Skilled in managing and statistically analyzing trial data.

Licenses / Certifications:
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work on farms with all production phases of swine.

- Compliance with all company safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

- Salary Range: $114,000 – $214,000 (based on experience)
